GOL is a brand new form of beach soccer that is exciting, easy to play and – most of all – a lot of fun.
Beach soccer is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Since launching in Brazil more than a decade ago, it’s now played in more than 75 countries worldwide. It keeps the best parts of traditional football, then adds some breath-taking skills and stunning locations that take it to a whole new level.
GOL is a streamlined version of traditional beach soccer, and has been specially created for Australia by former Socceroo and SBS TV Presenter David Zdrilic.
GOL is played on a smaller field than other forms of beach soccer. This means the games are faster, it’s easy for anyone to play and you are guaranteed lots of goals in every match.
It’s also a terrific way to keep fit – although you’ll have so much fun playing the game, you won’t even realise it’s exercise!
The first GOL Beach Soccer event will take place on Sunday 31st January 2016 at Dolls Point beach in Sydney, and it’s open to all ages and experience levels.
Business Operations Manager and Event Coordinator Amanda Alač will bring the 'Launch Event' to life in what will be the first of many GOL festivals to hit Australian shores over the coming years.

As a prominent TV presenter and former Socceroo, David Zdrilic is well-known to football fans in Australia.
He scored 20 goals in 30 games with the Australian team, and enjoyed a stellar career throughout Europe as well as with Sydney FC in the A-League.
Since 2009 he has worked in the football media as an analyst, commentator and presenter for SBS, Channel Nine, Fox Sports, ESPN and News Limited. He regularly appears on The World Game, hosted Channel Nine’s recent Wide World of Sports football coverage and also hosted SBS’s coverage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, which won the 2015 Logie Award for Most Outstanding Sports Coverage.
David’s passion for beach soccer began in his childhood, which was spent kicking a ball around on the sand at beaches across Sydney. After retiring from professional football in 2009, David played regular social games at Bondi and Tamarama with his SBS colleagues and other football-lovers, and is now a member of the Australian beach soccer team, The Beach Socceroos.
To make this exciting sport accessible to players of all ages and experience levels, David has developed a new form of beach soccer called GOL that is simpler and easier to play – but even more fun and great for fitness.
GOL Beach Soccer will launch on the beaches of Sydney this summer. The first event will take place on Dolls Point beach on 31st of January 2016.
